How can I find a different provider?

Your child's pediatrician can often provide referrals to trusted specialists and help identify the level of care needed.

Your child's school (e.g., guidance counselor) may be able to provide referrals to mental health providers.

Online directories such as Psychology Today (https://www.psychologytoday.com/) or Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration  (https://www.samhsa.gov/find-help/helplines/national-helpline) allow you to search for licensed therapists, counselors, and psychiatrists in your area, with filters for insurance, specialties, and availability.

Your health insurance company may be able to provide you with a list of clinicians who accept your or your child's plan.

If support is needed quickly, services like the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, 911, or your local emergency department can provide immediate guidance and connect you to local resources.
